Futuristic Hotel in Orlando, Florida With Self-driving Cars & Smart Rooms | Lake Nona Wave Hotel

I love a good hotel stay, but the Lake Nona Wave Hotel in Orlando, Florida has topped them all. From the colors & technology of the building to the friendly & helpful staff, this hotel is the epitome of contemporary luxury hospitality. It’s truly an intersection between art & automation & definitely worth the hype!

There are so many great things to say about this hotel, so let’s start with the most unique aspect in my opinion: the technology. The technology experience is incorporated around every corner at Lake Nona Wave Hotel, & it definitely adds to the splendor. Beginning in the room, every hotel room comes with an iPad, customized with your name. (If that detail doesn’t make you feel welcomed, I don’t know what will.) You can literally do EVERYTHING on these iPads: adjust the air, control the lighting, open/close the curtains, order room service, request laundry service, message concierge, & more. A minor detail that makes a huge difference in convenience. The rooms are also equipped with buttons throughout that control the shades, black-out curtains, & lighting. Now for the bathroom, the rooms have toilets like I’ve never seen before. Fully automated “Toto smart toilets” with a control panel on the wall. But the room isn’t the only place where I was astounded by the tech. A “Technogym”-powered fitness studio, “Beep” autonomous shuttles, a kinetic chandelier in the reception area, & floor-to-ceiling “View smart windows” that tint automatically in response to the sun & outdoor conditions all knocked my socks off. Saying this place is state-of-the-art is an understatement!

My next-favorite feature of the Lake Nona Wave Hotel is the innovative & curated on-site dining options. There is Haven Kitchen, a boho-lovers dream. It’s very lush, tropical, and botanically decorated, full of color & features a Mediterranean-inspired menu. Then, there is the Living Room Bar. Located in the hotel’s lobby (which they don’t call a lobby – instead it’s a “living room”), it’s colorful & artistic with live music & a DJ. They offer fun drinks & small plates, in stylistic & artistic seating arrangements, like a couch on its side & sit-able green arch shapes. I did not get to visit BACÁN on my visit but the space looked very beautiful. BACÁN’s menu is influenced by the many flavors of the Americas & has a dramatic open theater kitchen. There is also Haven Pool for those visiting the colorful outdoor pool area & Haven Lounge for those looking for some sophisticated night-life. To be honest, if I lived closer, I would probably visit these dining options on the regular.

The other amenities that the 234-room Wave Hotel has to offer are equally as stunning. The “Living Room” (lobby & check-in area) is covered in art pieces. It even features a 2+ story tree, with grand wooden stadium stairs doubling as seating leading to the chic mezzanine. The hotel’s lobby elevators are works of art themselves – definitely worth mentioning. All 3 decked out in different artwork, mirrors, lighting, & music: another truly unique experience. The pool area is absolutely refreshing! Not just because of the crisp waters, but because of the beautiful multi-colored cabanas, colored metal palm tree sculptures, and food & beverage service. The Sculpture Garden is an experience all in itself. Right outside of the Lake Nana Wave Hotel’s back doors is 50,000 SF of lush-tropical landscaping & some of the coolest sculptures in Florida, including Arturo Di Modica’s Charging Bull like seen in New York City’s Financial District, & my favorite, the Baks series by local artist, Jefrë. The hotel also prides itself on its dynamic & high-tech space for groups & events.

I would consider the Lake Nona neighborhood to be up & coming. There are plenty of things to do & places to visit such as: Lake Nona Town Center, Boxi Park, Canvas Restaurant & Market, Nona Adventure Park, Drive Shack & more. There is also a ton of construction happening right now, so I can’t wait to see how much more vibrant the area becomes in the next couple of years.

Conveniently located to the Orlando Airport, Orlando’s main attractions & parks, and Downtown Orlando, The Lake Nona Wave Hotel is the place to be. The hotel is easy to access & offers free parking in a large well-lit garage right outside of the hotel. Honestly, I had an amazing experience at the Lake Nona Wave Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The luxury high-tech experience exceeded all my exceptions & I definitely look forward to returning!

If you’re looking for a unique luxury stay in Orlando with art, technology & automation around every corner, Lake Nona Wave Hotel is the vacation you’ve been longing for!
