Fortaleza Suites in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico is truly a dream come true!
I stayed in the Fortaleza Suite (Room 11) during my visit to Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and absolutely loved it!
The suite is the size of an entire apartment, and has the most incredible balcony views! My room/suite has its own full kitchen with an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator, blender, spices and more. It also has a separate dining/sitting room with a table for 4 and a futon that can sleep at least 2. Then, that room leads into the bedroom which has tons of storage and 2 queen beds. My favorite part of the suite is the balcony! The balcony is huge and overlooks Calle de la Fortaleza. It made for an extraordinary view during the day and night. There is a little table on the balcony perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning or sipping an evening cocktail.

Everything about the hotel was amazing. I loved the design and architecture. It definitely gave me all the San Juan feels. From the high ceilings to the beautiful light fixtures and detailed headboards, this hotel is gorgeous.
The hotel felt like a home away from home, very warm and cozy! The building was very clean and, most importantly, I felt safe.
Downstairs, there is a communal kitchen with a vending machine, plenty of utensils and appliances to utilize. Above the kitchen area is a little garden with hanging greens, it is quite beautiful. There is also a couch and a table in the downstairs lobby area.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and checking in and out were extremely easy. Parking in a garage is also available so you don’t have to worry about what to do with your vehicle while staying in the bustling streets of Old San Juan.
Aside from the stunning balcony and lovely design, my other favorite thing about Fortaleza Suites is the convenient location. As I mentioned, the Fortaleza Suite/Room is located on Fortaleza Street, which is a main street in Old San Juan. Everything you’d want to see in Old San Juan is just an easy walk away. The location couldn’t be any more perfect.
