Piesanos prides themselves on using the finest and freshest ingredients, and you can really tell. This includes their fresh pizza dough made daily baked in their granite stone fired pizza oven, Rigatoni Alla Vodka and Rigatoni Bolognese pasta imported from Italy, and Grande® premium mozzarella, ricotta and Romano cheeses.

I visited Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza’s newly opened Bradenton location to try the menu, and it surpassed all my expectations! From the appetizers to the mains to the desserts, the food at Piesanos is absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed sipping their specialty cocktails.

Here’s what we ordered…

Piesanos Rolls: Served with every dine-in meal
The Piesanos Rolls are absolutely delicious – I loved them so much. They are soft, warm, glazed with oil, and covered with cheese & herbs.

Piesanos Giant Meatball: Piesanos’ giant ½ lb meatball served with melted provolone, ricotta, basil, marinara & house made flatbread
This is a solid appetizer to share. The meatball is dense, well-seasoned, and smothered with greatness. The meatball is served with flatbread that is soft, seasoned, and cut into nice-sized triangles (similar to pita). The ricotta in this dish is a major chefs kiss.

Caprese: Fresh mozzarella & tomatoes on a bed of arugula with basil, drizzled with a balsamic reduction & extra virgin olive oil
I feel like Capreses are pretty standard, and this dish was just that. It was served fresh & cold, with the perfect amount of drizzle. This Caprese is pretty generous too, being served on a nice-sized plate with two slices of mozzarella per every one large slice of tomato.

The Captain Pizza (Large 16″): Mozzarella, spicy Italian sausage, meatballs, mini cup & char pepperoni
I would recommend this pizza 100 times over! You can taste the difference in the granite stone fired oven, and the cheese quality and ratio is truly unbeatable. It’s a meat lovers dream with all the different variations and textures of meat perfectly covering every slice.

Quadruple Pepperoni Calzone: Combination of all four types of pepperoni, ricotta, mozzarella & parmesan – comes with side of sauce
I could eat this Calzone everyday. It is baked to perfection with a crispy outer layer and soft, warm inside. The size is unreal, appearing larger than my head. My favorite part was the thick, melted cheese and layers of pepperoni, including small cubes. I was glad we ordered this particular Calzone because it was the perfect blend of flavors without being too overwhelming with the tastes of many ingredients.

Tiramisu: Espresso soaked lady fingers layered with cocoa & mascarpone, topped with whipped cream
It’s hard to top this decadent dessert. It was perfectly creamy, the ideal level of mild sweetness, and a nice sharable size.

New York Style Cheesecake: Classic cream cheese custard with a graham cracker crust & whipped cream
This cheesecake knocked my expectations out of the park. Restaurants either have really good cheesecake or really bad, there is no in between, and this New York Style Cheesecake was simply sensational! It was so sweet, creamy, the perfect level of rich, and has the most amazing crust.

Piesanos Mojito: Bacardi Rum, Triple Sec, Orange Juice, & Sprite
If you’re an experienced mojito connoisseur, I personally wouldn’t recommend ordering it. But the drink itself was pleasant, light-tasting, and a nice concoction.

Gin Basil Smash: Bombay Sapphire, Simple Syrup, Lemon, & Basil
This drink was a nice, light, and refreshing.

Italian Mule: Stoli, Disaronno, Ginger Beer, & Mint
This was my favorite of the drinks we ordered, and extremely delicious. The Disaronno brings a interesting twist of sweet yet bold to the famed Moscow Mule.

Pear Martini: Grey Goose, Pear Vodka, St. Germaine, & Fresh Lemon
This drink had a nice level of sweetness. I would say the flavor is similar to a Lychee Martini, but this drink is a lot smoother.

Aside from the delectable cuisine, we also experienced really great service. The staff was friendly and in good spirits. I also enjoyed the look of the restaurant, mixing the traditional family-style restaurant appearance with a modern looking bar area and splashes of Italian-esque ‘murals’ on the walls throughout. The Bradenton location also offers a covered outdoor dining area for those who prefer fresh air while they enjoy their fare.

I very much enjoyed my visit to Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza’s new Bradenton, Florida location. The restaurant is clean, friendly, and locally owned. The food at Piesanos is outstandingly delicious due to its finest ingredients, freshly-made selections, and granite stone fired pizza oven. Piesanos also offers its customers a full service bar, express to go ordering, catering, and more.

I can’t wait to return to Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza in Bradenton to enjoy more of their fresh, high-quality Italian cuisine!
