St. Petersburg, Florida, has long been a hub for diverse and vibrant culinary experiences, and its dining scene just got a taste of the tropics with the arrival of “Concrete Jungle.” This new, two-story restaurant and bar, by Hunger + Thirst Group, is a breath of fresh, exotic air, drawing inspiration from the bohemian charm of Tulum, Mexico. With its wildly chic atmosphere, unique fusion of flavors, and Instagram-worthy aesthetics, Concrete Jungle is a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.
Step into Concrete Jungle, and you’ll find yourself transported to a tropical paradise. The restaurant’s interior is a harmonious blend of modern design and natural elements, with lush greenery, earthy tones, and touches of pink creating a cozy yet chic atmosphere. The space is thoughtfully curated to evoke the carefree spirit of Tulum, making it the perfect backdrop for a fun lunch with friends or a romantic evening out.
St. Pete’s Concrete Jungle is two-stories. The upstairs provides a spacious area for brunch, lunch, & dinner, with tables, large, circular booths, a swing, neon sign, and bar. The upstairs (or main level) focuses on an “easy-drinking” cocktail list that is on the fresh and light side. The below-ground lounge is dark and intimate featuring extremely abundant greens, DJ stage, disco ball, long booth-like seating, and more swings. The underground lounge offers tequila and mezcal cocktails. My favorite part of the establishment is the beautifully tropical stairs that transport you between the two levels. The stairs are dressed to be opulent with more greenery, neon light strips, and overhead boho lighting fixtures. Turning every prance down the stairs into a total photo-ready moment.
Concrete Jungle’s menu is a celebration of flavors, drawing inspiration from the vibrant street food of Tulum and infusing it with a creative yet lighter and healthy twist. From jackfruit flautas, and charred watermelon, to wood-fired catch of the day, every dish is a culinary journey that captures the essence of the seaside town. The chefs at Concrete Jungle do an outstanding job at creating dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious.
