My experience on Carnival Freedom has exceeded ALL my expectations. From the hospitality of the staff, to food & drink, entertainment, outdoor amenities, & beyond, this ship is packed with excitement.
As a first time cruiser myself, I wanted to familiarize you with Carnival Freedom. You’ll find a peek at my stateroom, restaurants & bars, entertainment venues, & helpful tips while onboard this “city on water.”

Stateroom
I chose an interior room with a king bed on the 8th deck. Though the room seemed small, it had all the basic necessities & the abundance of storage allowed for our room to remain clear of suitcases & luggage.
Atrium
The Atrium is essentially the ship’s lobby. Plenty of activities will be hosted here throughout your stay, & it is home to the ship’s main glass elevators. It is located on deck 3, though all the decks above overlook this grand opening in the middle of the ship. You will also find guest relations, a shore excursions desk, a bar, lounge seating, & a stage.
Food & Dining
There are SO many food options available. The first being the sit-down dining assigned on your Sail Card. You will either be assigned to the “Posh” or “Chic” restaurant. Both are sit-down 3-course dinners. Lido Marketplace AKA the buffet is located on the 9th deck & is open for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Guy Fieri’s Burger Joint is also located on the 9th deck & comes in clutch for grab & go burgers. Pizza Pirate is located on the 9th deck & is the best personal-ish pizzas on the ship. All of these great options are included in your stay. If you’re looking to spend a couple extra dollars, you also have the following options. Bonsai Sushi is located on the 9th deck & where you can order rolls & bowls. There is also Steakhouse, Seafood Shack, & Redfrog Pub. Lastly, you can order room service (available 24-hours).
Promenade
The Promenade is the name given to the 5th deck, where you will find a great measure of entertainment.
Casino – The casino has a large array of games, a bar, & bar-staff like no other!
RedFrog – This tropical-themed pub has live guitarists throughout the cruise.
The Nightclub – The Nightclub has a light-up dance floor, disco balls galore, tons of seating, & a DJ that plays a variety of music.
Alchemy Bar – The best cocktails on the ship, themed to be pharmaceutical, Alchemy Bar has all the medicines & potions to get you feeling right.
Piano Bar – This spot brings the BEST crowd of people together to listen to a musical soul play their heart out – one of my personal favorites.
Punchliner Comedy Club – The name says it all. They offer PG & adult only comedy shows. Grab your seat early, this place fills up fast.
Havana Bar – They hold karaoke in this Havana themed location.
Shops – From candy, to fine jewelry, bags, & watches, they have sales or special offers at certain times throughout the day.
There are plenty of more things to do on the Promenade, including the Coffee Bar, Sweet Spot, Arcade, & Art Galleries.
Theater
The Theater is a magnificent place on the ship. It encompasses 3 levels, so you may enter on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th deck. The architecture is absolutely stunning & the nightly shows are terrific.
Outdoor Entertainment
The outdoor entertainment is home to endless fun & lots of sea breezes.
Lido Deck / Pool – This is where the party happens. Located on deck 9, here you will find a pool, two hot tubs, TV screen, waterslides, 2 bars (BlueIguana Tequila Bar & RedFrog Rum Bar), & plenty of lounge chairs. Multiple parties are hosted here & evening movies on the big screen.
Adult Pool – Located on the 9th deck at the back of the boat, the adult only pool is a place for peace & party. There is a pool & two hot tubs in this area, along with the Seafood Shack, Pizza Pirate, & a cocktail bar.
Serenity – Serenity is a 21+ oasis away from the kids, located at the front of the ship on the highest level. There are lounge chairs, cabanas, 2 hot tubs, & a bar.
Rooftop Mini Golf & Athletics – Toward the back of the boat on an upper level, is a mini golf course. There is also a track, gym equipment, & basketball/volleyball courts.
In conclusion, I had an amazing experience on Carnival Freedom, & I know you will too. There is SO much to do, & SO little time. Make sure you have the Carnival App on your phone so you can take a look at all of the daily activities happening during your cruise. The staff is beyond amazing. The ship is safe, clean, & fun. I definitely look forward to jumping on my next cruise. Feel free to comment any questions & I will quickly get back to you.
