Anandá Hotel Boutique is a stunning luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of the “Walled City” of Cartagena, Colombia. I had the pleasure of staying at Anandá during my visit to Cartagena, and it is my new favorite hotel I’ve ever visited.
Everything about the hotel is perfect, from the service to the design. After checking in, we were promptly re-greeted at our door with welcome beverages. Aside from that, our room was dressed with fresh flowers, welcome notes, and macaroons.
The hotel’s convenient location makes it all the better. There are many different neighborhoods of Cartagena; The Walled City, Getsemani, Bocagrande, just to name a few. Just outside the front door of the Anandá Hotel is everything you’d want to see in the historic Walled City of Cartagena. It is walkable to the many delicious restaurants and colorful buildings Cartagena is so well known for.

Physically, what makes this hotel so unique are the, not one, but TWO, beautiful pools. The first pool, located in the center of the hotel, is surrounded by the historic concrete walls of the building, creating a courtyard-like area. The balconies on the upper floors overlook the beauty of the pool below. It’s a stunning moment, I simply can’t put into words.
The second pool is located on the rooftop of the hotel, and offers a completely different atmosphere than the first. While the ground-level pool offers a serene, environmental feel, the rooftop brings a vibrant, colorful feel. This pool is surrounded by open air, glamorous daybeds, and the stunning view of the colorful Cartagena skyline.
Anandá Hotel Boutique has great on-site dining options. Breakfast is complimentary and absolutely delicious. Breakfast is served with chilled orange juice, amazing Colombian coffee, and fresh fruit. There is a nice variety of main dishes to choose from and order. The hotel’s restaurant, Vedana, also serves lunch & dinner and even extends to the pool for a beautiful pool bar.
Another aspect of the hotel that I really enjoyed is that they have bikes that you can use. The hotel has many outdoor areas for you to lounge, whether it be by a pool, or at any of the many sitting areas. The hotel also offers spa services for an additional cost.

I honestly can’t recommend staying at the Anandá Hotel Boutique enough. The hotel is eco friendly, with an ecological feel. The building has a well-executed indoor outdoor mix, two fabulous pools, amazing staff, and is in a perfect walkable location. The hotel operates out a 17th-century building, bursting with charm and character. Clean, comfortable, & safe, Anandá Hotel Boutique offers all things luxury, and I can’t wait to visit again!
