Nice is one of those coastal cities that feels endlessly colorful, and Mercure Nice Centre Notre Dame fits right into that setting. I booked Mercure Nice Centre Notre Dame mostly because it appeared online to be so colorful and cute. I’m obsessed with the style and the pink, sand, rose, yellow, orange palette the hotel displays throughout. From the rooftop pool, to the pink sky lounge, and curated room lighting fixtures, everything felt styled with intention. Mercure Nice Centre Notre Dame felt like a little extension of Nice itself; vibrant, stylish, and perfectly placed!
Beginning with one of the hotel’s most stunning areas; the rooftop pool… The pool area was adorable and made for lounging. It has cabanas, tons of seating, and the dreamy 360‑degree view of Nice is truly unreal. The stunning view consists of the mountainous hills in the distance, many buildings creating an overview of the city, the horizon, and even planes flying by. And with Bella Ciela, Mercure Nice Centre Notre‑Dame’s sky restaurant and bar, located just one level below, easily accessible by outdoor stairs, service can bring drinks right up to you. It’s rooftop oasis done right!
Next to rave about is Bella Ciela Nice Bar & Rooftop, the hotel’s rooftop bar/sky lounge. This spot was so pink and effortlessly chic. The drinks were delicious and the bites were tasty. The seating situation is perfect, with an a bar and tables located inside, tables and seating outside lining the beautiful elevated view, and a lounge space with couches and pillows. I had such a good time sipping on bubbly, eating light bites, and basking in the French Riviera views.

Our room was surprisingly spacious, especially for the standard room we had booked. There was a large window allowing for plenty of natural light, a big wooden armoire that tucked away all our belongings, and it had what you’d need for a comfortable stay. The styling was the highlight of the room for me with beautiful colors, stripes, warm tones, intentional art, and cute decor. They really leaned into their look.
That said, the room did seem like it got a fresh coat of paint instead of an actual renovation. Some original items, such as the thermostat, ceiling, and phone, appeared to be a little dated. In the bathroom, thick paint was visually warping on the exterior of the soaking tub, and there were random little chip spots here and there. The room felt cute, for sure, but also a bit like they polished up something older with makeup. Still, the room was clean and cozy with natural light and lots of good sleep.

I loved the location of Mercure Nice Centre Notre Dame! It’s located across from the Notre Dame Basilica, a quick walk to the train station, and super walkable to everywhere we wanted to go in Nice. We walked to restaurants like Le Plongeoir, a romantic spot with a modern Mediterranean menu set dramatically over the sea, and Les Bains du Castel at Castel Plage, a beach club spot on the Promenade des Anglais with a restaurant built into the side of a rock. We also walked to the marina, did a bit of shopping, and strolled around the old town, feeling completely safe day and night.
I truly had a great stay at Mercure Nice Centre Notre Dame. The location is fabulous, the aesthetic is adorable, the rooftop pool is a highlight, and the convenience of having having food and drink at your fingertips from Bella Ciela is top tier. Everything felt clean, and the staff were friendly. Perhaps the room wasn’t perfectly polished, but I’d absolutely stay again. It’s cute, convenient, affordable, and definitely a stylish stay!
