I had the pleasure of visiting Medusa the Bus-Lux in one of Florida’s cooler months, December, and can attest that this space is more than your typical Airbnb vacation rental, it’s a recharging escape and is truly something special.
As you may have envisioned by now, Medusa the Bus-Lux is a reimagined school bus. Coated in a beautiful blue color and resting in a spacious gated lot, this Airbnb is decked out in Medusa-themed decor. All throughout the tiny home’s interior and exterior, you’ll find hand-crafted custom 3D-printed creations. It’s like an immersive experience straight out of a fairytale. This is just one of the countless aspects that makes this vacation rental so extraordinary. You can genuinely feel the love and passion that went into every detail of Medusa the Bus-Lux, a testament to the care and craftsmanship behind the project.
Though Medusa the Bus-Lux may be considered a tiny house, I was pleasantly surprised with how spacious it really is, even for me standing at 5′ 11″. The property sleeps 3 between its bed and futon. When you enter the bus through its front stairs, you see the main living area consisting of the bus’s original driver controls, a futon, small table and chairs, and a well-equipped kitchen including a sink, 2-burner stove, microwave, and refrigerator. As I walked through the narrower hallway to get to the bedroom, I did, however, have to crouch down as I stepped over the wheel area. Once you enter the bedroom, you see it’s a magical oasis in itself, with more Medusa decor, a crystal singing sound bath bowl, books, an abstract light projector, and more. The colorful window coverings in the back of the bus create the most beautiful rainbow light reflections in the morning when the sun shines through. The bathroom, which is located through a door in the bedroom, is surprisingly large and comfortable. It features an elegant sink vanity and mirror, a toilet of course, and a full stunningly-tiled shower. All of which is adorned in beautiful custom-made decor pieces. Though the inside is unforgettable, my favorite magic is outside.
My favorite part of Cozy AF’s Medusa the Bus-Lux is the outdoor space. When you first step through the property’s coded front gate, you see a beautiful garden-like area with plants, cactus wearing a hat, medusa statue, large gorgeous peacock chair, of course the bus with its nicely-sized covered porch, outdoor couch, accent table, and the most coveted aspects in my opinion; hot tub and huge relaxing net. I loved spending the evening in the hot tub, especially surrounded by the ambience of the softly lit porch lights. I woke up in the morning a bit earlier so I had time to lay out on the net and take in the sounds of the crowing rooster(s). It was beyond a vibe—it was enchanting.
I love that Medusa the Bus-Lux is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for an unforgettable stay, including little details that make big impacts such as vanilla extract bug repellent, Citronella candles, a speaker, and more. Aside from that, upon arriving and reading the welcome letter, the host leaves every guest 3D printed souvenirs inside a gift box.
Cozy AF’s Medusa the Bus-Lux has got to be the coolest and most unique Airbnb I’ve stayed in thus far. I love that it brings a truly one-of-a-kind ambiance that can’t be duplicated all while having modern-day necessities and luxuries such as a nice bathroom and well-equipped kitchen with essential appliances. Safety is key, and I felt safe at the Airbnb knowing that I was fenced in, and both the fence and bus had a code to enter. I also really appreciate how the location is tucked away just enough to offer peace and relaxation, yet conveniently central, with everything you need only a short ride away. The exceptional design and custom-made touches makes Medusa the Bus-Lux so special. I highly recommend checking it, and Cozy AF’s other properties out. Just as the name suggests, Medusa the Bus-Lux is truly Cozy AF!
